Dans la recherche du développement durable, il est universellement reconnu qu’il faut mettre l’accent sur la valorisation du capital humain, d’où l’importance d’investir dans l’éducation. Depuis 1990, le Burkina Faso a fait de «l’Education Pour Tous » un credo. Ce credo reste en congruence avec les Objectifs du Millénaire pour le Développement (OMD) qui appellent à la création d’un environnement propice au développement et à l’élimination de la pauvreté dans lequel l’éducation occupe une place centrale. Ainsi s’agit-il pour le secteur de l’éducation de relever les défis d’ici à l’horizon 2015, de l’effectivité de l’éducation primaire universelle et de l’atteinte du taux d’alphabétisation de 60%.
